Day 2 LA to Santa Barbara

Of course food is the first thing we thought about when we woke up so off we went to Grand Central Markets again for what appeared to be very popular place.

Apart from thinking that the name of the venue was hilariously uncouth, as you can see the food was very rich and very 'American' not the type of brekky you would want to be chowing down every day on your way to work.
Bacon and egg burger on Brioche bun.

After we had our bellies full it was time to go and pick up our hire car and start our road trip!

We felt like it was time to get out of Downtown LA and hit the beach for some sand, sun and ocean breeze.

Jordan did so well to easily adapt to driving on (the wrong) right hand side of the road. He drove us to Santa Monica where we hired some boss bikes and went for a fun ride to Venice Beach.

We rode our bikes all the way from Santa Monica Pier to Venice Beach and saw some interesting things and stuff. Here are some pictures.

After enough fun in the sun we decided to hit the road to Santa Barbara.

We drove North and arrived at Santa Barbara just before sunset and checked in to our hotel.
Everyone was so friendly there and gave us lots of suggestions and tips of where to go.
We walked down State st which was lined with beautiful architecture heavily influenced by Spanish missions and it was such a beautiful dusk walk.

After walking up and down the strip and checking a few places out, we had our taste buds salivating for the rack of New Zealand lamb rack that we saw in a French/American cuisine called La Petit Valencie.
New Zealand Lamb Rack with ratatouille and pesto
Pork Shank with hominy grits.
Delicious!!

After our delicious meal and a lovely local Santa Barbara wine we called it a night as we had a big journey ahead of us the next day.
